The nation’s leading innovators of media, music and film headline Texas Southern University’s School of Communication annual conference scheduled for April 20-24 in the Martin Luther King Jr. Humanities building.
This year’s event is being held in conjunction with the 35th Annual Intercultural Communication Conference in which “Building Bridges Globally through Communication and Media” will be the theme.
Some of the nation’s leading media ambassadors including journalists, filmmakers, tech-preneurs TV and radio personalities, content creators, scholars and music mogul Mathew Knowles will share their perspectives on how media, music and film are bridging the gap of misconception, destroying stereotypes, tearing down walls of hate and intolerance and building consensus and understanding on political, economic and social issues across cultures.
“The week-long conference will enlighten and inspire our students and the global community to actively engaged in discourse that will empower them, “ said Dr. Chris Ulasi, chairperson of the TSU ‘CommWeek’ 2015 committee.
On Friday, April 17, there will be grand kick-off event outside on the MLK portico where local artists will perform. Student work will be showcased throughout the week and an awards ceremony will be held at The University Museum to cap off the conference on April 24.
