Denise Hamilton is the CEO and founder of WatchHerWork.com, a national platform and movement poised to remodel the mentor/mentee relationship for career-driven women.
Via the video based website WatchHerWork, women share their wisdom and best practices gained from real life experiences in an on-demand format that women can access as needed. In candid, transparent videos and articles, professional women gain the guidance needed to expertly navigate their careers.
Denise has had a storied career. Before launching WatchHerWork, Denise was the top executive with ChaseSource Real Estate, a $10 million facility and construction management firm headquartered in Houston, Texas. Previously, she served as COO of the Greater Houston Women’s Chamber of Commerce. Denise’s other professional experiences include her work as a real estate broker with CB Richard Ellis and a manager of acquisitions with Greater Houston Partnership. Prior to that, Denise was head of Marketing and Promotions for AOL for the South Florida region. Denise is also co-founder of JONES Magazine, a national lifestyle magazine. This unique background has provided Denise with experience in Fortune 100 firms and small businesses, non profits and quasi-governmental organizations, entrepreneurship and intrepreneurship.
Denise was a divorced single Mom for many years, parented a child with a catastrophic illness, is caring for aging parents, and was the first in her family to attend college and enter the professional world. She is remarried and has a child in college. She has lived in New York, LA, Miami and Houston. She is a nationalized citizen born in Jamaica. She has been the only woman and the first African- American in more roles than she can list. It is this varied life and professional experience that equips Denise with the skills needed to advise and counsel professional women across the nation. She understands women and the unique challenges they face as they climb the corporate ladder.
Denise is involved in several civic and community efforts. She currently serves on the board of Emerge Fellowship, a non-profit organization focused on preparing high-potential, underserved high school students for top-tier college admission and graduation and the Rise School of Houston, a pre-school for children with Downs Syndrome and other developmental delays. Her other volunteer efforts include Junior Achievement Houston, the HeForShe campaign of the United Nations, Dress for Success and others. Denise has also mentored and counseled hundreds of women over the course of her career.
Denise is a gifted speaker and presents often on a number of topics including executive female leadership, professional growth and empowerment, education, and diversity. She holds a master’s degree in communications from Abilene Christian University as well as a bachelor’s degree in Social Work. She is also a graduate of Leadership Houston Class 29.
